چکیده

Abstract Copper rods with ultrafine-grained microstructure, obtained by multi-turn ECAP processing, were subjected to Direct Drive Rotary Friction Welding using various processing parameters, such as rotational speed and pressure, which resulted in different energy heat input. Even though friction welding is a high process, proper selection of parameters it was possible maintain grain size at around 0.7 µm the weld zone preserve UFG microstructure. These microstructural features translated into mechanical properties: YS for those specimens 330 MPa. Processing that larger input caused an increase 2 µm; this, however, increased ductility led uniform elongation exceeding 5%. Corrosion resistance stir increased, evident higher open circuit potential corrosion comparison base material; observed differences about 50 mV. changes can be explained fraction HAGBs SZ.

Effect of rotary friction welding variables on mechanical and physical properties of aluminum-copper tube joints

The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of rotary frictional welding process variables on microstructure, mechanical and physical properties of copper-aluminum dual-tube pipes. For this purpose, using a thermosetting friction welding machine, a copper pipe (99.44% purity) with a similar diameter aluminum tube (1050), was welded in three different conditions with different friction pr...

MICROSTRUCTURE AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF THE ULTRAFINE-GRAINED COPPER TUBE PRODUCED BY SEVERE PLASTIC DEFORMATION

In this paper, cyclic flaring and sinking (CFS) as a new severe plastic deformation (SPD) method was employed to produce the ultrafine grain (UFG) copper tubes. The extra friction has eliminated in the CFS method that provided the possibility for production of longer UFG tubes compared to the other SPD methods. This process was done periodically to apply more strain and consequently finer grain...

A holistic Approach on the Simulation of Rotary-Friction-Welding

The contribution deals with a new holistic approach on the process simulation of Rotary Friction Welding (RFW). The main focus in this regard is on the proper determination of process parameters for new pairs of weld partners in a complete virtual manner. Basis of the simulation is a Carreau fluid material law coupled with the heat transfer problem. The plastic deformations of the flash are map...
